About Andy Russell Charitable Foundation

The Andy Russell Charitable Foundation was created in March of 1999 with a mission and purpose of raising funds to primarily support services and programs focused on children’s needs, nutrition initiatives, veteran’s services, cancer research, and the Departments of Urology and Sports Medicine Concussion Program at UPMC.

His wife, Cindy, is an avid animal rights activist and serves on the Board of Animal Friends, a full-service animal welfare non-kill organization that serves the greater Pittsburgh area.

To date, the foundation has supported such charities as:

  • Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund
  • The Ronald McDonald House
  • Leukemia Society
  • The Cancer Society
  • Economics PA
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Mothers Hope
  • Juvenile Diabetes
  • SIDS

The Andy Russell Celebrity Classic supports the work of the Department of Urology at UPMC and the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program.
